MASALA BAZAAR PRODUCTS TRADE IN

Masala Bazaar Trade-In Policy: We are pleased to offer our customers the opportunity to trade in pre-loved clothing or homeware items purchased from Masala Bazaar within the last 6 months to 1 year. Items must be in good condition, free from significant wear or damage. In return, you will receive a 30-40% discount on the purchase of a new item of equal or greater value. Traded-in items will be resold at a price reflecting the discount plus 20% more. Please note that all trade-ins are final, and the discount is applicable only during the same transaction. Right to Deny Trade-In Policy:

Masala Bazaar reserves the right to deny any trade-in at our discretion. We may refuse a trade-in if the item does not meet our eligibility criteria, including being purchased within the last 6 months to 1 year, or if it is not in acceptable condition. Items that are significantly damaged, excessively worn, or not originally purchased from Masala Bazaar will not be accepted. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining the quality of our trade-in program.

Masala Bazaar Trade-In Program Terms and Conditions

1. Eligibility:

  • Timeframe: Only items purchased from Masala Bazaar within the last 6 months to 1 year are eligible for trade-in.
  • Condition: Items must be in good condition, clean, and free from significant wear, damage, or alterations. Items should be usable and presentable.

2. Accepted Items:

  • Categories: Trade-ins are accepted for clothing and homeware items. Including but not limited to; clothing, bags, homewares, accessories.
  • Exclusions: Items not originally purchased from Masala Bazaar, as well as those with excessive damage, significant stains, or missing parts, will not be accepted. The trade-in excludes hijabs, jewellery, perfumes, oud, candles or anything that can not be traded in due to hygiene reasons.

3. Discount Offer:

  • Discount Rate: Eligible items can be traded in for a 30-40% discount on the purchase of a new item of equal or lesser value.
  • Applicability: The discount is applicable only during the same transaction and cannot be applied retroactively or combined with other offers.

4. Trade-In Process:

  • Assessment: All trade-in items will be inspected and assessed by Masala Bazaar staff to ensure they meet the program’s criteria.
  • Valuation: The discount percentage will be determined based on the item’s condition and original purchase price.
  • Final Decision: Masala Bazaar reserves the right to refuse any trade-in item at its discretion.

5. Resale of Trade-In Items:

  • Pricing: Traded-in items will be resold at a price that reflects the discount value plus an additional 20%.
  • Display: Pre-loved items will be displayed within the existing brand section of the store or online, as appropriate.

6. Non-Returnable Policy:

  • Final Sale: All trade-in transactions are final. Once an item is traded in, it cannot be returned or exchanged.
  • No Refunds: No refunds will be issued for items that are traded in or for the discount provided.

7. Customer Responsibilities:

  • Accuracy: Customers are responsible for ensuring that trade-in items meet the eligibility criteria before presenting them.
  • Disclosure: Customers must provide accurate information regarding the item’s purchase and condition.

8. Privacy and Data Protection:

  • Customer Information: Any personal information collected during the trade-in process will be handled in accordance with Masala Bazaar’s privacy policy and applicable data protection laws.

9. Program Modifications:

  • Changes: Masala Bazaar reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the trade-in program at any time without prior notice.
  • Terms Updates: Any changes to the terms and conditions will be posted on our website and/or communicated through in-store signage.

Terms and Conditions for Masala Bazaar Pre-Loved Trade-In Program

By participating in Masala Bazaar’s Ramadan Trade-In Program (the “Program”), you agree to the following terms and conditions:


  1. Eligibility to Participate.
    1. The Program is open to all customers aged 16 and over
    2.  Each participant can trade in a maximum of five (5) items per month.
    3.  Items must meet Masala Bazaar’s quality standards as outlined below (see Section 2)
  2. Quality Standards for Trade-In Items;
    1. Items eligible for trade-in must
      1. Be in good, clean, and wearable condition and meet the theme of the trade-in month (Ramadan: Smart, Dressy, Abayas, Modest)
      2. Have no stains, tears, missing parts, or significant damage.
      3. Include clothing, accessories, or other wardrobe items deemed suitable for resale.
    2.  Items that do not meet these standards will not be accepted. Masala Bazaar reserves the right to reject any items at its sole discretion.
  3. Trade-In Process
    1.  Customers must bring trade-in items to Masala Bazaar’s designated counter for inspection.
    2. Accepted items will be added to Masala Bazaar’s inventory for resale either in-store or online.
    3. A record of the customer’s trade-in items will be maintained for tracking purposes.
  4. Store Credit Terms
    1. Customers will earn store credit of up to $100 per customer in total based on the resale of their trade-in items the credit will be valued at $20 per item. 
    2. Masala Bazaar reserves the right to issue store credit only after the trade-in items are sold in-store or online if the threshold of 500 items per month has been met.
    3. Store credit:
      1. Has no expiration date.
      2. Is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
      3. Can only be used at Masala Bazaar for purchases of equal or greater value than the credit amount
  5. Trade-In Launch & Target Goals
    1. Masala Bazaar will not launch trade-in items for resale until the Program reaches its target of 500 items traded in.
    2.  Items will be launched both in-store during Evening Market Nights and online once the target is achieved.
  6. Returns and Refunds
    1. Traded-in items purchased during the Program are sold as-is and are final sale.
    2. No returns, exchanges, or refunds will be accepted on pre-loved items.
  7. Liability
    1. Masala Bazaar is not responsible for any lost or damaged items left for trade-in that are not accepted or sold.
    2. Customers participate in the Program at their own discretion and risk
  8. Amendments to Terms
    1. Masala Bazaar reserves the right to modify or update these terms and conditions at any time. Changes will be communicated on our website and in-store.
